Years after your wedding, your guests will most remember the experience they enjoyed at your reception.   Did they rekindle old friendships and see family?   Was the location and setting perfect? And did they dance to that special song?   Music goes a long way to setting the atmosphere and creating that experience that leads to lasting memories.   Having the perfect entertainment is key to setting the mood and making sure people have a great time.

Your first big decision will be whether to look at bands or DJ or maybe both.  Cost is usually the biggest determining factor.  Most djs average between $600-$800.  Top, experienced and well respected MC/DJ's in the industry are between $800 and $1400.  You will be somewhere in that range depending on the size of your reception, whether your dj needs an assistant, how much MC, interaction and coordinating you want and whether you need extra lighting, ceremony music or even video.

The average 4-5 piece dance/variety band will be asking between $2500- $5000. Higher priced options are larger bands and ones that are in more demand. Lower priced options will be less professional and lesser experienced bands, or bands that might be more background type options.

Many brides and grooms incorrectly think that djs are the only option that can play the variety the are looking for. There are many bands that are just as, and even more versatile than djs. However, it's unfortunately like most things in life, we usually have to look at many of the higher priced options to find that level of musicianship and quality.

Since Daniel Entertainment is your own personal talent buyer, explain to us more about your reception and we can guide you to the best fit in whatever price range you are looking. The factors you consider to differentiate bands will be completely different from the ones you use to differentiate djs. We can sit down with you and explain what to look out for and all the diferences.
