Roy Daye, Jr

My name is Roy Daye, Jr. and I've been performing as a self-taught solo-acoustic act for a little over 4 years now. Well, not all self taught.... much credit goes out to Jes Seda (1st experience with this kind of music) and Lance Oglesby (coolest guitar player on the planet). Two of my local influences. Dave Matthews & John Mayer as of late I attempt to immulate.

It has been a blessing to be able to pick up this wonderful instrument in such a short time and have such a nack for playing songs I loved to listen to as a little boy in the 70's on the AM stations in my parents Ford LTD. Not to mention get groups of people to say "hey, I haven't heard that song in..." or "you cover that well".

I've been blessed with a diverse musical repetoire that keeps my immediate audience on their toes. Neil Young, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, John Mayer to John Sebastian (the guy who wrote the theme song for "Welcome Back Kotter". I love not being categorized. When people ask, "What type of music do you play?" I answer "Yes".

If you get a chance, come out and pat your feet while having dinner or a chat with friends and let me possibly play one of your favorites. Or just ask, I love the challenge... 'what doesn't kill you, will make you stronger' (I think).

Credits: Thank you God for the gift to be a student and utilizing all of the abilities you give me to glorify you. Thank you Julie, Andy & Royce for your patience while listening to Dad play and practice during commercials.

Thanks Jes & Lantz and all musicians who've willingly shared all kinds of info and allowed me into your world, I guess happiness loves company too.

And to my acoustic inspirations Dave Matthews, Martin Sexton & John Mayer, Eva Cassiday, Keb Moe........ this list is never ending
