Alan Barrington


Biography:
Based in South Carolina Alan Barrington brings his unique acoustic New Folk/Blues/Jazz sound to his audiences all over the country. Barrington has been praised for offering "Heartfelt well-written songs sung in an immaculate voice encompassing both his native West Coast and adopted East Coast southern charm". The Charlotte Observer said, "Barrington's music is introspective, sometimes delicate work, full of personal observations and emotional sketches", "Barrington offers nicely crafted folk-pop along the lines of David Wilcox or Pierce Pettis."

Alan has performed in a vast array of venue types from opening for the Charlotte Symphony during the summer pops to upscale restaurants, private clubs, and festivals.

In addition to performing many cover tunes ranging from artists such as John Hiatt, Otis Redding, James Taylor, BB King, Dan Fogelberg, and R.E.M. Alan is an award winning songwriter and national finalists to perform at the 2003 and 2004 Suwannee SpringFest at Live Oak, Florida, national finalist at the Minnesota Folk Festival 2004, national finalist for the MOVA Arts Festival in Guntersville, Alabama 2005, and national finalist at Flat Rock Music Festival, North Carolina 2005.
