Band Of Gold

Jim Shafer and Liz Luke were doing a morning radio show in Charlotte when the general manager of the station, knowing Jim and Liz were musicians, told them to get some local musicians to back them up for a show the radio station was doing in a couple of weeks. It was September of 1997. They learned four songs, went on stage before 6000 people, and got a standing ovation! The rest of the concert went on, and everyone went home happy. But, the phone started ringing. And by the end of the next week, The Band Of Gold had offers for 30 more performances!

The Band Of Gold as it stands today has morphed and changed with the years with one purpose in mind.....a great time for everyone who is at the party! The Band Of Gold has entertained at hundreds of events of all kinds; festivals all over the southeast, fairs, corporate events for companies big and small, wedding receptions (big and small as well!), private parties, fundraising events, and the list goes on. With six seasoned musician/performers, The Band Of Gold prides itself on professionalism. From the first phone call from the client to the loadout of the sound and lights after everyone has gone home, no problems.

If you require a certain song or songs, for the program and it's not on the current setlist, The Band Of Gold will learn it specifically for the event. When brides and grooms want a special song for their first dance at the wedding reception, The Band Of Gold will deliver the special song at the special moment. Jim says, "the look on the bride's face when the song is over is a great memory for everyone!"

Having two radio professionals in the group, the client gets a duo of MC's and announcers at no extra charge! With a big songlist that stretches from the 50?s oldies, through every decade of rock music, soul, R&B, funk, disco, beach music to the hits of today, The Band Of Gold plays it all....whatever the event calls for!

From The Kiawah Island Club, The Biltmore House, The Mills House Hotel in Charleston, The Grove Park Inn, to The City Club in Charlotte, Ovens Auditorium and Cricket Arena, The Band Of Gold has entertained and even backed numerous acts in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They've played hundreds of venues up and down the east coast, and the list keeps growing
